Where many food businesses cook under one roof
Shared kitchens let caterers, bakers, food trucks and packaged-food makers rent time on a commercial line instead of building their own. The model works only when tenants trust what they walk into. A bakery booked for 5 a.m. shouldn’t find the evening barbecue crew’s grease on its bench, and a new member’s first impression of the space shapes whether they stay.
Ora Commercial Cleaning gives the kitchen operator a base level of clean that doesn’t depend on which tenant cooked last. Floors, drains, dish areas, walk-ins, shared surfaces, restrooms and locker rooms are reset on a set schedule, while tenants still wipe their own tools and stations when their booking ends.
Incubators and commissaries in our service area
Shared and incubator kitchens in Oakland, San Jose, Reno and across our service area rent stations by the hour or by the month.
A shared kitchen’s tenant mix is the reason a cleaning plan matters: one station might hold flour dust, the next fryer splatter, the next raw protein residue, and each needs the right method.
Prep stations and grease-prone surfaces
Stainless tables, shelving and undershelves are cleared, degreased and sanitized, and the legs, wheels and wall guards that catch splash are wiped down. Range and fryer surrounds, oven fronts, reach-in doors and gaskets, hand sinks and their dispensers get attention on every visit, since grease builds there faster than anywhere else.
High ledges, light fixtures and ceiling tiles above the line can be added as periodic tasks.
Walk-ins, dish pits, floors and drains
Walk-in coolers and freezers have their floors swept and mopped, handles and strip curtains wiped and spills under the racks cleaned up. Tenant product stays on its labeled shelf. The dish pit gets descaled and degreased from the compartment sinks to the walls and the floor beneath the machine.
Quarry tile and sealed concrete floors are degreased and machine scrubbed, grout lines are brushed, mats are lifted and washed and floor drains are cleared and rinsed to cut odor. Ora’s commercial floor care crews can deep scrub the whole kitchen between booking blocks.
Clean handoffs between tenants
A shared kitchen usually has a quiet stretch, often after midnight or between the early bakers and the lunch caterers. Ora plans the main clean inside that gap and leaves a short completed checklist for the kitchen manager. Where the operator wants daytime help, a day porter can reset restrooms, sweep the common aisles and empty trash between bookings.
Supervisors inspect against the same station list the operator sees. When a tenant reports a problem, the supervisor checks it on the next visit, so small issues are fixed before they turn into disputes between members.
Support for health-inspection readiness
County environmental health departments inspect shared kitchens like any other food facility. Routine cleaning keeps floors, walls, hand sinks, dish areas and storage in good order between inspections, so the operator isn’t rushing the week an inspector is expected. Ora can also book a deeper clean ahead of a scheduled visit or before a new tenant’s first booking.
Restrooms, locker rooms and changing areas are part of the plan too. Fixtures are cleaned and disinfected, lockers are wiped, floors are mopped and supplies are refilled, so staff have somewhere decent to wash up and change before going on the line.
What sets the price
Price is set by the kitchen’s size, the number of stations and walk-ins, how often floors and drains need machine scrubbing, how long the kitchen sits empty each night and any daytime porter hours. Operators who also house delivery-only brands can pair this plan with our ghost kitchen cleaning.
Ora carries insurance and workers’ compensation coverage, issues a certificate of insurance to every client and background-checks every cleaner before they enter your building.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
When does Ora clean a kitchen that’s booked most of the day?
In your quietest hours, often overnight, with work kept clear of any station that is still booked.
Does the crew clean the walk-in coolers?
Yes. Walk-in floors are swept and mopped, handles and strip curtains are wiped and spills under the racks are cleaned up on each visit.
Will cleaners move tenant food in the walk-ins?
Never. Labeled product stays on its shelf, and crews clean the floors, handles, curtains and spills around it.
Can Ora deep clean before an inspection or a new tenant starts?
Yes. A deeper clean of floors, drains, walls, hand sinks and the dish pit can be booked ahead of either date.
